My. First visit today owner very rude never even placed an order it is not what you know at this place but who!

I cannot say enough good things about this resteraunt! Friendly folks, great service, and the most scrumptious seafood I have ever eaten! I will most definitely make the 50 mile drive just to eat here again! I highly recommend Mckinneys Pond Resteraunt!!

Good food. Very neat location/setting. But don’t go here if you don’t have a LOT of time. Over the last couple years, our average wait time has been about 40 minutes, from the time we sat down, until we got our food. Best time was around 30 minutes, worst time was well over an hour.

The fried shrimp are the best. Great food.

Just had the best catfish dinner at McKinney 's Pond Restaurant.

It was good, scallops and crab cakes was yummy.

Awesome seafood and a great place hidden in backwoods of Georgia. Everything from sword fish to gator tail, to my personal favorite fried catfish filets and shrimp with home made hush puppies. I put a hurtin on my stomach but it was worth every bite! The Wifey loved it too

Severely overpriced. You can no longer see the pond so there's no longer a view. You can't even approach the pond.

The food was fabulous. We had appetizers, seafood and steak. Everything was cooked perfectly and the service was fabulous.

We've always had fairly good luck here, and the food is always good. The wait is always longish, but tolerable. My parents asked us one night for a suggestion of a good restaurant to take their out of town guests to. We told them, McKinney's! We had a terrible experience. We were seated at 7:15. It was 8:58 before the food was brought out. It was not a busy evening, and there were 2 larger groups that came in after us and got their food well before we did. No effort was made by the staff to make anything right, not even an acknowledgement that this was out of place. That's a really good way to scare off new customers, and lose old ones!

Have been going there all my life and always have great food fun and friends, however today, my husband and I went and got take out because I wasn't feeling well, got 3 scallops, 6 shrimp, and a baked potato each and it was $44 !!! Portions got smaller and price got larger!!! I have no problem paying for what I get but dang, I expected a decent amount of food for the price!!!! Very disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!

My family has been coming here for generations. The seafood is out of this world, and the tarter sauce is one of the best things I've ever eaten in my whole life. Can't recommend eating here enough!

Great Food, Poor Service and the atmosphere was So Claustrophobic

Have been going here since I was a kid and will each time im home. The food is great whether steak or seafood or local catch. Friendly atmosphere! Dont leave without trying the homemade ice cream especially the peach. Can get busy at times but worth the wait.

First time back in years. We had a large group of people and I expected to wait a while on food, but surprisingly it was brought out rather quickly in my opinion. The appetizers were brought quickly and the food started arriving shortly there after. It probably helped we got there early and the crowd was light. Food was pretty decent. Had steak and fried shrimp and crab stew appetizer. It wasn't bad, maybe a little better than average to me.

Wonderful, authentic Southern-style fried food, with basically everything anyone could ask for. Same chef for over 30 years with a famous Tartar sauce he won't tell you the secret to, you've gotta try it. A tad on the expensive side but well worth it. A must if you're even considering

The most RACIST facility I have ever witnessed in my entire life.. one thing that I have learned when dealing with people such as the ones that I dealt with at this facility is that there is no need to fight evil with evil. The only thing for you to do is let GOD deal with the malevolent individuals who work at this place, particularly the man that was sitting behind the counter to the left who was very racist towards me while I was there.. It’s a shame that there are individuals in this world who are as EVIL as him. To the woman who was running the register, for you to just stand and allow him to act in the manner that he did was also very despicable to me, and that shows me a lot about who you are as a person as well..

The food was ok; the service ok; place was dirty and table sticky; the price was too high for this.

We eat in Savannah a lot but I haven't found better shrimp, gator tail or hush puppies than McKinney 's.

I love this place. Our church comea every year during December. We have lots of good seafood! Great place with wonderful service. The Catfish and oysters are amazing!!

Outrageous prices and the stuffed flounder is horrible in fact the items on the whiteboard have been there for at least 4-5 years

Food and service was supervb friendly casual atmosphere. Met the owners very kind and gracious. Will be going back real soon. Just a short drive from Augusta Ga. To out side of midville Ga. You won't be disappointed, you need to stop in and see this fine establishment, family owned many many years,.Jeff and Tammy FAIRLEY, from Augusta Ga. Highly recommends this fine southern cuisine seafood or prime beef that your looking for.

Pretty good. Had grilled scallops and shrimp. Seasoning was caked on and burnt, but was easily removed. It all seemed to be seasoned with lemon pepper or something similar which thankfully I like but would be overwhelming to some. Only other thing is that the price was a little high compared to the same thing elsewhere.

Love the food! Best oysters in the world! I only eat oysters at McKinney's Pond. There oysters are always fresh and never have that bitter taste. I absolutely love the owners. They are a very sweet family. All the food is delicious.

Day in and day out, one of the best inland sea food restaurants in Georgia. It's a 'mini bucket list' for those who like to eat great shrimp, bream, catfish, steak, oysters, home made deserts. McKinney's has the best tartar sauce on Planet Earth -- just drag a big fried shrimp or oyster through it and you'll not disagree! Pretty much in the middle of nowhere just south of Midville, GA on highway 56. They have a website, and I think are open Thursday through Sunday beginning about 5 pm. The place is a throwback to an earlier time though recently renovated with a few essential upgrades. My experience with this place is 50 years, though only a couple of times a year over the last several. Have driven from St. Simons Island to McKinney's and back for dinner on more than one occassion. You can google them and call ahead for your order if you choose.
